Baby Wearing Safety

Babywearing Safety Tips
- These carriers are designed to hold baby
securely. However, it is your responsibility to keep your baby
safe while wearing him in the carrier.
- Baby slings are not a substitute for
responsible parenting and common sense! Pay attention to your
baby at all times. A sling will not prevent little hands from
reaching out and investigating or little bodies from wriggling
free of any sling position.
- Always ensure your baby is secure before
letting go of his weight and take care when making adjustments.
Practice first with a doll until you feel confident.
- The carrier should never be used in the place
of a car seat or any other safety restraint.
- Be careful when stooping, bending over,
squatting etc. Do not use your sling while participating in
strenuous exercise or activity.
- When wearing the sling, always be aware that
you are wider than usual. Move carefully through doorways,
around sharp edges, objects that are hot and anything else that
could hurt your baby.
- Remember that your baby is able to reach out
and grab things while in the carrier.
- Our fabrics are not flame-retardant. Use
caution if you cook with your baby in a sling. Little Koala
recommends that you not cook at all or consume any hot liquids
or beverages while wearing your baby in a sling.
- Always check that the fabric and seams of
your sling are in good condition. If you notice any signs of
wear or structural weakness, do not continue to use the sling.
Under such circumstances, Little Koala will not be able to
insure the integrity of the product.
- Check the knots and straps of your Little
Koala Carrier often to be sure that the carrier is tied properly
and that baby is not entangled in the straps. Inspect it often
before use and do not use if the seams or fabric appear worn or
are ripping.
- After putting your baby in the carrier, check
that he looks comfortable and that the straps are neatly tied in
a mirror. Ensure that the knot is well under your baby’s bottom.
- It is not recommended to carry babies
weighing over 16kg in the slings.
- Please read the instructions carefully.
Failure to do so can result in serious harm to your baby.
